Opossums

Opossums

Opossums are scavenging marsupials about the size of a household cat. They have grey fur and a distinctive white face with a long, pointy snout. They also have round dark eyes and a long skinny tail.

Like raccoons, opossums are resourceful creatures who will eat whatever they can find and seek shelter wherever they see fit, which just may be inside your home. Opossum tracks look a little like human hands. The front paw has five visible toes with claws fairly evenly spaced; the rear paw has four clawed toes and one unclawed toe off to the side which resembles a thumb. Signs that an opossum may be around are nearly identical to those of a raccoon. If you suspect either of these creatures may be lurking where they don’t belong, call Sudbury Pest Solutions to schedule an appointment. (978) 443-2000
